This is officially the eighth story for the Harry
Potter franchise. Of course I had to get my hands on this baby. When it was
first announced that J.K Rowely wrote a story for a Harry Potter play I was
excited. In April I heard the
announcement of the script from the play being published I jumped up in joy. I
was at work then I got an email from pottermore.com of the news. I went straight
to the Barnes & Noble website and reserved my copy. YAY!!
Okay!
Let’s get down to business.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is set 19 years
after the battle of Hogwarts. The dialogue in the first few pages is the same
scene where Harry is dropping his youngest son Albus off at the train station. Ahh the feels!
I’ve
heard and read a lot of mix reviews about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I'm
guessing it’s because a lot of fans thought it was a actually 800 page book.
Unfortunately it’s not. The story originally is a play, and they just published
the script for all to read and enjoy. In my opinion I feel if you are a fan of
Harry and his adventures, then you
will have no trouble reading the script. I was able to visualize everything as
if I were watching the movie in my head. I mean we have 8 movies worth of effects surged into out brains. I truly did enjoy every second of the
script. I laughed, cried, laughed some more, and cried. I tried really hard not
to finish the book so quickly, but I could not help myself. Of course the script is nothing compared to the original Harry Potter books, it's like in its own category. I am really grateful
that WE the Harry Potter fans are able to get the opportunity to read about
Harry and the gang one last time. I think it’s a great way to officially bring it all to a
close. I am getting into my feels. Growing
up and reading Harry Potter brought my imagination more to life. To see it come
to life in the big screen was a dream come true. And to know Joe (J.K Rowling)
surprised us again with another story 19 years after the Hogwarts war is
definitely an honor.
I will always and forever be a Harry Potter fan. This
fandom has been hyped for years, and I am proud to say that I grew up with it.
